Ze Luis being offered to Arsenal on a Free until end of season.

His CV is decent, won the league with Porto in 2020 and is only 31.

I have no idea if he is any good though.

Apparently Arsenal have a striker crisis with only Lacazette and Nketiah.

If that’s a crisis what the fuck have we got!

Sir Alf
I concer with most of what you said there. One thing I would say about successful transfers, a few years back a survey revealed only 50% actually worked. On that basis if you get 50% right you're average. get more right you are doing well, less than 50% you're in trouble.

Re: Official Transfer rumours and gossip thread
Moyes has limitations. He was on a tight budget at Everton and is at West Ham relative to many clubs and nothing like GSB and the media say he has to spend.

He has always tried to avoid making mistakes when spending what he does get and that seems to be ingrained now. So much so that he would not see the benefit of a short term fix for the squad to tied us over this season and even next. But in Jan for the most part that will cost more than usual like the CB (Duffy?)that went to the barcodes.

And Sullivan will never pay over the top especially now. He has himself wasted loads of money on his punts and agent striker suggestions but that was to finance him playing at being a sort of manager or co-manager. His ego told him he was better at picking players or as good.

But while GSB are at the helm, Moyes is the perfect manager for them. He should avoid relegation without spending too much.

I assume everyone accepts that? Yes he ( Moyes ) should not be devoid of criticism but on balance, and looking at what Moyes has achieved in 2 years, I struggle to see what the alternative is? I would say we should give him 5 years or perhaps more before writing him off and demanding someone else. Just my opinion but in the last 60 years of following West Ham he is the best we have had behind Lyall and Greenwood. In terms of league position he may become the best we have ever had because aside from one off seasons we rarely finished top half in consecutive seasons, But its only season 2 and could of course all go pear shaped next season. Lyall and Greenwood won things though and stay well out in front for that reason alone.

In summary, Moyes will always frustrate fans just as Lyall and Greenwood did back in the day but for this moment in time I really don't see who would do better?

Re: Official Transfer rumours and gossip thread
As Crassus said on here the sale price of the club has already been agreed. As for the Daves dipping into the clubs money prior to selling I'm not sure they can do that apart from loan and interest that's owed to them but if I'm wrong I sure someone on here will correct me.

Re: Official Transfer rumours and gossip thread
Crassus, I couldn't agree more mate.
For the fantastic work Moyes has done, he has given this club an identity back, we are performing well above our station, getting a tune out of the likes of Antonio, Lanzini playing well again etc etc
His decision making really is suspect at times, the constant backing of Yarmolenko who is terrible, either out of form or simply doesn't give a shit anymore, his substitute choices leave little to be desired and the dithering in the transfer market, his great work could all be undone in 3 games and we will slip back down into mid table obscurity again. Any manager worth their salt surely would have had targets drawn up in November/December leading into January, and his line about we couldn't find anyone better than what we have already simply doesn't sit well with me. Theres no one out there better than Yarmolenko, no one better than Diop, no striker available to push Antonio even though Michail himself has said he wants competition. do me a favour.

He's become a dithering, old fucking woman, who seems to have lost an edge. Would fit in well on here.

Re: Official Transfer rumours and gossip thread
Oh there’s a shock - not

Moyes, the boards favourite (only) cheer leader, is whinging that Antonio’s travel is detrimental

Well no shit Sherlock!
Just wait until he goes pop and Zouma’s leg falls off in a collision with Cresser’s back

Moyes is rapidly getting on my fucking tits

This transfer window smells like the GSB end game.

The trio have planned out their exit strategy and are tidying up the balance sheet so that they maximize the money they take out of the club when they sell.

If Kretinsky is the one then they will get more if the outgoings are lower.

We should have Sonny Perkins on the steaks every day.

Then he'll be built more like Sonny Liston, than Sonny Bono and we'll have striker on our hands.

Who needs £60 million strikers, eh.

I’m with Manny
If Moyes had any intention to back fill with kids he would have introduced them at the end of games we were well ahead in
Nah, he prefers the desperate duo so not happening unless he has had a re think due to fucking up the window

Manuel 11:59 Sat Feb 5
Re: Official Transfer rumours and gossip thread
No chance. Moyes won't be playing any kids, think that is pretty clear. he has no faith in them at all, but argue away if you must.

Mike Oxsaw 11:22 Sat Feb 5
Re: Official Transfer rumours and gossip thread
I know this thought lacks any knicker-wetting potential, but maybe Moyes sees better potential in the Under 23s that can step up when asked than anything available to him on the market at the moment.

Perhaps he doesn't publicly "name names" because that's not his management style.

Re: Official Transfer rumours and gossip thread
I think the owners should fly around in their cunty helicopters chucking sackfuls of cash out over London in addition to letting Rice go for nothing. Maybe knock a couple of their buildings down for a laugh too.

Re: Official Transfer rumours and gossip thread
I know he won’t, because we won’t turn down the kind of money the big clubs will pay.

But selling him this summer and reinvesting is not guaranteed to make us any better.

Re: Official Transfer rumours and gossip thread
I admire your optimism deal, but Rice won’t be playing for us for another 3 years.

I’d rather Rice play for the club until 2025 and lose him for nothing than sell him for 100 million and lose him this summer.

Not sure why that is such a crazy thought?

Moyes talks a good game about getting the right player in then spends 30 million quid on vlasic when we needed a striker.

You can easily blow 100 million these days on 3 players that don’t improve the squad.

Plus you have to rely on our owners giving Moyes 100% of the money back to spend. I have big doubts on that.

Too many ifs and buts whilst we currently have a world class player on our books who will never be replaced in terms of quality.

Is Rice still shit in your eyes? Who gold that was. Aged nearly as bad as you.

I see alan macinally has waded in saying Moyes would not have expected zero signings, slating the board and the Czech bloke.

It’s difficult to find a Liverpool fan that actually goes and supports them…..so they have to live off the scraps of thinking they are part of something that can’t be stopped hence they spout that kind of shit…..
